Questions

Frequently asked questions

Subgrades, 14-day turnaround, packing, and shipping — everything to know before you submit.

01What's included with every graded card?

Machine-vision scan, four subgrades (centering, corners, edges, and surface), a full digital report, tamper-evident slab, and permanent cert verification. Subgrades are included on every card — not an add-on.

02Are subgrades included?

Yes. Every card receives centering, corners, edges, and surface subgrades plus the final composite grade. There is no extra charge for subgrades.

03What is the turnaround time?

Our target is 14 days from the time your cards arrive at our facility until grading and encapsulation are complete. Track status in real time from your portal.

04How should I pack cards before shipping?

Place each card in a soft penny sleeve and put it in a semi-rigid holder. Pack the holders in a sturdy box with plenty of cushioning so nothing can shift. Include your printed packing slip in a sealed bag, and insure your package to us with your carrier. See the Packing & Shipping page for the full checklist.

05When do I pay?

After grading and before return shipping. We email a secure payment link once your cards are graded. Grades stay locked until you pay; then we ship and unlock your reports.

06How much is return shipping?

Return shipping is $12 for 1–8 cards, $18 for 9–22 cards, and $22 for 23–40 cards. Each additional box is $22. Optional signature service and return insurance are shown separately before you submit.

07What should I put in the box besides the cards?

Your printed packing slip from checkout, any special notes, and your full contact information. Keep a copy for your records.

08How should I ship the package?

Use tracked, insured shipping for the full declared value — USPS Priority/Express, UPS, or FedEx. Add signature confirmation when available. Don’t write “cards” or high values on the outside of the box. Ship on a weekday when you can.

09Where do I send my cards?

Create a submission in the portal first, then ship to White Whale Grading, P.O. Box 109, Cedarburg, WI 53012. Email support@whitewhalegrading.ai before you ship if you need it confirmed.

10Who is responsible if cards are damaged in transit to you?

We are not responsible for loss or damage before the package is received and logged at our facility. Insurance and careful packing are your best protection. Photograph the packed cards and sealed box before you ship, and keep the tracking number.

11Where do I download my report?

Open the card detail page or Reports section in your dashboard after grading completes.

12Can dealers submit batches?

Yes — dealer accounts support CSV batch upload and bulk workflows.

13Do we authenticate autographs?

We can grade autographed cards but at this time we cannot authenticate them.
